Rentals in Springbank Hill, Calgary | Livenvo
Springbank Hill spans numerous subdivisions, including Springborough, Summit of Montreux, and The Slopes, making it one of the larger and more varied suburbs in Calgary's southwest, each pocket with its own take on Elbow River Valley and Rocky Mountain views. Established in 1999, the community is home to Ernest Manning High School and Ambrose University College.
Springbank Hill occupies a large, varied stretch of land near Calgary's western city limit, bounded by 17 Avenue SW to the north, 69 Street to the east, and 101 Street to the west. The land was annexed to Calgary in 1994 and the community established in 1999, taking its name from the older rural community of Springbank further west in Rocky View County, of which this area was once the eastern portion. Rather than a single subdivision, Springbank Hill is made up of numerous distinct pockets, including Springborough, Summit of Montreux, The Slopes, Anatapi, and Spring Valley, each with its own character but sharing sweeping views of the Elbow River Valley, the foothills, and the Rocky Mountains from many streets. Ernest Manning High School, which opened in 2011, and Ambrose University College both sit within the community, adding a steady stream of students to the local rental market. Renters here have access to Springbank Hill Community Park's playgrounds and sports fields, an extensive network of walking and cycling pathways, and nearby Westhills Towne Centre for shopping. Roughly 87% of the housing stock was single-detached as of the mid-2000s, though newer condo and townhouse development has added more rental-friendly options in recent years.
