Glenbrook SW Rentals Near Sarcee Trail | Livenvo Rent
Established in 1958 in Calgary's southwest, Glenbrook sits between Richmond Road and Sarcee Trail, next door to Glendale and Optimist Park. A mostly single-family and duplex community, it offers a Co-op-anchored shopping centre, views toward Strathcona Heights and the Rockies from its high points, and easy access to Killarney/Glengarry.
Glenbrook was annexed to Calgary in stages through 1954 and 1956 and formally established as a community in 1958, making it one of the city's established postwar southwest neighbourhoods. It sits between Richmond Road to the south and Sarcee Trail to the west, bordered to the north by Glendale and Optimist Park, which supplies shared recreational facilities for the wider district. The area is composed mainly of single-family homes and duplexes on tree-lined lots, giving renters a mix of bungalow and split-level housing rather than newer infill. A knoll near the community's Co-op-anchored shopping centre offers views toward Strathcona Heights and the Rocky Mountains on a clear day. Glenbrook is served by both public and Catholic schools, including Glenbrook Elementary and St. Thomas Aquinas, and its community association runs an outdoor rink that converts to pickleball and basketball courts through the warmer months. Nearby Optimist Athletic Park adds soccer, baseball, and rugby fields to the mix. Bordered by Glamorgan, Glendale, and Killarney/Glengarry, Glenbrook sits roughly 8 kilometres southwest of downtown, with Sarcee Trail and Richmond Road offering straightforward routes across the rest of Calgary for renters commuting from the community.
