Douglasdale/Glen was established in 1986 and is made up of three connected segments, Douglasdale, Douglas Glen, and Quarry Park, spread along the east bank of the Bow River. It's bounded by 114th Avenue S to the north, 130th Avenue S to the south, Deerfoot Trail to the east, and the Bow River to the west, with Fish Creek Provincial Park bordering the community directly to the west as well. Quarry Park, the community's mixed-use segment, functions as a genuine live-work-shop-play development, with an office campus, The Market at Quarry Park (anchored by Co-op, Starbucks, and Original Joe's), and the Remington YMCA, which includes an indoor track, swimming pool, and fitness facilities alongside a full-service Calgary Public Library branch. A 90-acre nature reserve runs along the Bow River with walking and cycling paths. Many properties in Douglasdale back onto the Eagle Quest Golf Course, and the community's river-valley topography provides views of both the valley and the Rocky Mountains. For renters who want a fully built-out southeast community with genuine mixed-use amenities and direct river and park access, Douglasdale/Glen is one of the more complete options available.
