Bankview SW Rentals with Skyline Views | Livenvo Rent
Set on elevated land just south of the Beltline, Bankview has offered renters downtown skyline views and walkable access to 17th Avenue SW since the neighbourhood's redesign for higher-density apartment living in 1950. Its mix of condos, townhomes, and character infill sits within easy reach of Marda Loop and the Sunalta Blue Line CTrain station.
Bankview was established in 1908 on land originally purchased from the Hudson's Bay Company, and a major 1950 redesign opened the neighbourhood to higher-density apartment buildings, shaping the rental-friendly community it remains today. It's bounded by 17th Avenue SW to the north, 26th Avenue SW to the south, 14th Street SW to the east, and 19th Street SW to the west, placing it directly southwest of the high-density Beltline district and within walking distance of downtown Calgary. The neighbourhood's hilly terrain gives many units sweeping views of the downtown skyline, and its elevated position keeps it distinct from the flatter grid of surrounding communities. Renters here are close to the restaurants, boutiques, and nightlife of 17th Avenue SW, as well as the shops of Marda Loop and Lower Mount Royal a short distance away. Bankview Community Park and Buckmaster Park provide playgrounds, tennis courts, and open green space within the neighbourhood, while the Sunalta Blue Line CTrain station and multiple bus routes along 14th Street and 17th Avenue give renters strong transit options without a car. The area's mix of century-old character homes and modern condo and townhome buildings makes it a common landing spot for first-time renters and young professionals working downtown.
