Mount Pleasant Rentals Near 4th St NW | Livenvo Rent
Mount Pleasant's King George School, built in 1912, still stands as a reminder of how early this stretch of Calgary was built up after its 1910 annexation. Today's renters get a walkable main street along 4th Street NW, quick access to SAIT and the University of Calgary, and Confederation Park framing the community's northern edge.
Mount Pleasant was annexed to Calgary in 1910, with development starting the following year — making it one of the city's older inner-city communities. King George School, a sandstone building completed in 1912, is one of the few structures from that original wave still standing. The neighbourhood grew alongside Calgary itself: North Hill Centre opened nearby in 1958, and the Trans-Canada Highway was established as the community's southern border a few years later. Today, renters will find Mount Pleasant bounded by 32nd Avenue and Confederation Park to the north, 2nd Street NW to the east, 10th Street NW to the west, and 16th Avenue NW to the south. Confederation Park itself, which opened in 1967, gives the community one of its biggest assets — cycling paths, toboggan hills, and a golf course all within walking distance. 4th Street NW, running roughly between 23rd and 27th Avenues, has developed into a local main street with cafes, shops, and restaurants distinct from Calgary's other commercial strips. With SAIT just a few kilometres south and the University of Calgary a short trip away, the neighbourhood draws a steady mix of students, young professionals, and long-time residents into its rental market of infill apartments and character homes.
