Tuxedo Park Rentals Near Centre St, NW | Livenvo Rent
Tuxedo Park's roots go back to 1910, when the land became part of Calgary, and the community itself was formally established in 1929. Renters here are bisected by Centre Street, with the Trans-Canada Highway forming the southern boundary and Edmonton Trail the eastern edge, putting downtown within easy reach by car or bus.
Tuxedo Park was among the neighbourhoods reached by Calgary's early electric streetcar network before the system was phased out for buses by 1950, and the community's layout still reflects that early 20th-century planning. It was annexed to the city in 1910 and established as its own neighbourhood in 1929, with the inner-city area bounded by 32nd Avenue N to the north, Edmonton Trail to the east, the Trans-Canada Highway to the south, and 2nd Street NW to the west. Centre Street bisects Tuxedo Park from north to south, serving as both a commercial spine and a bus corridor with frequent service into downtown, about three kilometres away. In 2020, Calgary City Council approved a future Green Line station near 16th Avenue North on Centre Street, which would eventually bring LRT service directly into the community, though construction on that stretch has not yet begun. Housing in Tuxedo Park mixes 1940s-through-60s bungalows and semis with newer infill, giving renters a range of unit types on a walkable street grid. The community borders Highland Park and Winston Heights/Mountview to the northeast and Crescent Heights and Mount Pleasant to the southwest, placing it squarely among Calgary's older, established north-central neighbourhoods.
