Temple Apartments & Homes for Rent in Calgary, AB | Livenvo
Long before it became Temple, this land was platted under the name Montrose in the early 1910s, a plan that stalled when the Great Depression slowed Calgary's growth. Development didn't resume until 1977, when Temple joined Rundle, Pineridge, and Whitehorn as one of the northeast's Properties communities, bounded by McKnight Boulevard, 68th Street, 32nd Avenue, and 52nd Street.
The land that is now Temple was first proposed for development under the name Montrose in the early 1910s, but the plan never materialized before the Great Depression slowed Calgary's growth for decades. The area was eventually annexed to the city in 1961, and Temple itself wasn't established and developed until 1977, making it the last of the four Properties communities, alongside Rundle, Pineridge, and Whitehorn, to be built out. Temple is bounded by McKnight Boulevard to the north, 68th Street NE to the east, 32nd Avenue NE to the south, and 52nd Street NE to the west. Its proximity to Calgary International Airport and the surrounding northeast industrial areas makes it a practical option for renters working in logistics, warehousing, or aviation-related jobs. The Village Square Leisure Centre, just west in neighbouring Pineridge, and the regional bike path network are both close at hand. Housing is a mix of single-family homes and townhouses built through the late 1970s and 1980s. For renters who want a well-established northeast community with quick highway and airport access, and don't mind a longer LRT walk than some of its neighbours, Temple is a solid, straightforward option.
